Emerald Drive Mt. Baker Wilderness, Washington State, USA
EXIF Data: f/22, 0.7 sec, 18mm I had taken a sunrise shot earlier in the day when the light was good, but decided to walk around and explore the area more even though the conditions were not optimal. I snapped this one off and didn’t think too much of it, but people seem to enjoy it so I decided to include it in this collection. - Moraine Lake is a glacially-fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometers (8.7 mi) outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6,183 feet (1,885 m). The lake has a surface area of .5 square kilometers (0.19 sq mi). The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. When it is full, it reflects a distinct shade of blue. The color is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. -Wikipedia
EXIF Data: f/18, 0.6 sec, 18mm Usually the best photo opportunities come with some sacrifice. While this location is not far from vehicle access, you won’t catch this light during mid-morning. My brother-in-law and I got up before daylight (and breakfast) and headed up the mountain to catch the early morning light on these peaks. For an extra bonus you can leave someone back at camp to cook for you, so when you arrive later you have a hot breakfast all ready to eat. - Moraine Lake is a glacially-fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometers (8.7 mi) outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.
