Lake Michigan Storm – Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Michigan

EXIF Data: f/13, 1/4 sec, 40mm

This was taken at Platte Bay during weekend photo getaway on Michigan’s lower Peninsula with my brother-in-law. We had waited all weekend hoping for the right light. It was the third and final day of the trip and all we’d had was marginal weather. Late afternoon as we watched the clouds above the lake it looked like we might get a sliver of light. Our patience was rewarded. The light you see here lasted maybe three minutes or less. I love the way it brushed strokes of color on the foreground grass. Thanks Brock for a great weekend!
